Bolton-based construction and interiors specialist, Artez, has completed the fit-out of a 20,000 sq ft new offices in Leeds for a leading software development company.

The £750,000 interiors contract, managed by the Leeds office of Eddisons, called for Artez and its partners to develop a vibrant, fun and collaborative working environment for Tekla UK – part of international construction and design software developer Trimble.

The office building, based on the Synergy 27 development in Leeds, houses up to 120 staff over three floors. As well as workstations, meeting rooms and executive offices, the office fit-out required Artez to deliver less formal brainstorming and collaborative working environments.

Ian Harrington, national head of building & project consultancy at Eddisons, also instructed Harrogate-based interior design firm, So Vibrant, to develop the look and feel for the Tekla offices. Some of the designs involved complex manufactured joinery such as layered hexagonal walls, circular booth-style group seating and metal-effect MDF wall sections.

Mike Banton, managing director of Artez, commented: “The level of sophistication in the design specification provided a complex set of challenges. Additionally, because the client Tekla is so firmly rooted in the construction industry, we had a very knowledgeable and critical audience watching the project unfold.

Ian Harrington, said: “The project team delivered a first class working environment which will be enjoyed by staff and visitors on the site. The feedback from Tekla’s team has been amazing, and the new office environment is already being seen as a catalyst for the company’s continued growth.”
